My house your house is about the thoroughly Dutch habit of peeking at your neighbors.

Visitors to the festival get an insight into the living environment of the inhabitants of Amsterdam: what makes a home? Does your interior look like those in the magazines? What makes it ‘yours’? And what do you do there?

Through various media channels, inhabitants of Amsterdam are invited to photograph their home. In workshops, the selected participants are assisted in digitally editing their picture into unique works of art in the form of large film slides. The artists Machteld Aardse and Femke Kempkes involve the city inhabitans in the project and assist them in giving their own content and meaning to their image. With the resulting material, they make a light installation, projecting the slides onto the windows of a large office building from the inside. Visitors to the festival can peek into this new building made with light, consisting of Amsterdam homes and the personal stories behind them.
