DREAMS IN MY HOME / Dromme i mit Hjem

Munkebo proudly celebrates its existence as a special living area with more than 25 nationalities. Stories as icons of residents in light images during the annual Kolding Light Festival. Machteld Aardse & Femke Kempkes collaborate on projects that 'Perform Urban Memory'. They use the large-scale light projection techniques in the public space to visualize something that is central to the identity of the place.

In 'Dream in my Home / Dromme i mit Hjem' 8 different stories from Munkebo / Kolding are represented in 8 slide images as iconographic portraits in which different perspectives and dreams of the area are captured, representing the character of Munkebo. In the process of 'Instant Composing' Femke Kempkes, Machteld Aardse and Jacob Andersen collected the stories and images in the moment by direct interaction with the people. The collected images and stories were transfered to large scale anaolgue slides (18x18cm) and shared back to the neigbourhood via large scale light projection on 4 different buildings in Munkebo, in celebration of the area.
